Since there?s no BAF figure maybe Hasbro is moving away from build a figures all together and pricing them as deluxe figures. Standard releases look like the old school toy biz Mattel 80s action figure days

If you are talking about the new Spiderverse figures, I would imagine it has more to do with them being tied to a popular movie and not needing/wanting to use a BAF.
The regular ML waves in 2023 all still have BAFs so for at least 2023 there doesn't seem to be a change.

The TRU website has a variety of figures 30% off, including some recent Marvel Legends like: Apocalypse, Mojo, the anniversary wave, and the new retro wave.
Its 2020 pricing in 2022!

Sadly useless for them to have this sale now. I think most collectors already ordered and got their figures from Gamestop.
Even if I hadn't, I'm not sure I'd be so eager to give TRU my business until they straighten up their act and go back to how they used to sell toys, rather than the price-gouging binge that they've demonstrated for the past year.

I need retro rhino all so I'm tempted but like you said I really don't want to give tru my business unless I really have to. Like exclusives.
