Yay, or nay, who's going out to watch The Phantom Menace in 3D?

Watched the dvd last night. It's still craptacular and 3D won't help.

Nah. No desire to watch it again. Tried to get my 5 year into it and he was bored. To much talking I guess, not enough light saber action for him.

I think I'm gonna go "yay". Haven't been the theatres in a while, and it would be nice experience the Jedi duel on a more powerful sound system again. Plus the pod race in 3D could be cool.

Haha, or I could just fire up the DVD, crank my speakers to 20, and skip to the good parts.

Re: Are You Going To See The Phantom Menace in 3D?

At first, I thought it was a crap idea. Then, I thought it was just stupid. Then I thought...that's...kinda neat. Then I thought, yeah. Then, hell yeah.

Is the movie stupid? Yes. Hell yes. But I remember how psyched I was back in '99. It was an epic moment to go to the midnight release and see the film. I was 18 then, but I felt like a kid. And even now, knowing how annoying Jar Jar is, how under used Qui-Gon and Darth Maul are and how gut wrenching badly I want to just kick "Annie" in the face, I still get a little tingling in the back of my heart thinking about this. It's that eternal little kid inside me, and he's whispering that he wants to see a lightsaber duel in 3D, and you know what...that eternal little kid is kind of awesome.

So yeah, I'm going to see it. Dragging the wife with me as well. And just to complete the geek-tasticness of it all, I bought a Movie Heroes Qui-Gon from Wal-Mart yesterday. It's a little silly, but it's nice to have a little 1999 excitement going.
