Re: Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection Line

You guys weren't lying about QC on those Ninjetti. I went back to my TRU to pick them up earlier and all that was left was ones with trash QC. Side eyed Billy. No eyes in mask Adam. Kim was missing a hand. Beware if ordering these online..now sold out on TRU online. I guesss if you can't find good ones in store you're screwed.

Haha. I can't believe these are actually sold out at their $40 price.

Yikes.

Well, that just gives TRU cart blanche to raise the prices even higher.

It is believable that those who are old enough to be nostalgic about MMPR would pay near $50 for a figure.

Ecliptor & Astronema 2 pack on sale amazon $66

https://amz.run/5SSq

Ecliptor's a great figure and the Astronema actually has some added sculpt on her torso (also her head has more range without that armor).

It doesn't really surprise me to be honest. Anything MMPR will sell regardless. Plus the Ninjetti figures turned out pretty good, QC aside. I might try to track down a decent Tommy and Adam if I can. If not it's whatever I guess. Not going to cry over it.

The Wal-Mart prices for standard Lightning figures are up to 36$ now.

So the TRU exclusives are really just $4 more dollars.

Regardless, overpriced.

These were worth it at $25 a figure but $40 after tax isn't and is just nutty. Unless it's something I really want I'm sticking to only buying these if they go on clearance.

Re: Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection Line

Well honestly, it makes me feel bad for those just coming into the ML/BS or Lightning Collection collecting game now.

I have 50+ LC figures, but I certainly wouldn't have if they were originally priced at 40 bucks. I probably would have only got 4 or 5.. and been very selective.

It's made entering the collecting game a very expensive (and not very viable) situation for new buyers.

Yeah, this is probably the worst time to get into collecting. It's unfortunate but that golden era of collecting we had from 2013 to around 2018 or 2019 is over. Never again will we have a time where prices and distribution were decent, exclusives were kept to a mininum, the secondary market wasn't controlled by Scalpers and new comers could get into a line with not too much effort. I think that's why McFarlane is doing so well right now. Good price point, good distribution, easy to get into for new comers. Hard to miss out on any staple characters cause McFarlane does so many versions.

Re: Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection Line

I'll be brutally honest, I found so much better deals from 're-sellers' online in the past months... than buying Hasbro products in store.

Store prices nowadays seem to be as bad (or worse) than Scalper prices.

I built an 80s/90s X-men ML collection (which is hard to do) in the past two months all from the secondary market. And it was cheaper than paying 40$ per figure in store.
