I figured they were going to be $32.99 or $34.99 at the most, not interested at that price

Just a brief message from our Hasbro Overlords.

$42? Really Hasbro, really? Get outta here with that garbage.

Re: Hasbro Ghostbusters discussion

Hasbro is really pushing their luck with prices lately. You can only use the raw materials cost excuse for so long. McFarlane is still putting out figures with better sculpts and most times paint apps for $24.99. His figures are also bigger and use more plastic. They create new sculpts for every figure too which costs quite a lot. Mean while Hasbro recycles or re-tools nearly everything and still jacks up their prices.

$42?! Ouch. No thanks.
If I can find some of those $9.00 clearance ones though, sign me up.

They probably realized the Plasma series bombed in mass retail... so they are refocusing the Collectors market, with these marked-up 'exclusives'

Re: Hasbro Ghostbusters discussion

Yeah, that's likely what happened but to mark the price up by $12 because of it is criminal.

Re: Hasbro Ghostbusters discussion

I was shocked to see these glow in the dark figures are marked up to 42 bucks.
Hasbro pulse has these for $26.99USD. In no way should that conversion to 42 bucks....

I was interested in the glow in the dark figures but that price tag and barebone accessories.... even with the new head sculpts they aren't worth it

Re: Hasbro Ghostbusters discussion

The extra you pay after conversion is Hasbro's "Canada tax". We get to pay more because "reasons".

But I feel like it doesn't happen that often anymore.

It still does happen for every Hasbro line though. Even with the new $22.99 price point in the states, once you convert it to CAD it's $27.94. Yet we're paying $33.99, a whole $6 more for "reasons".
