I may be missing something in the conversation.

You?re saying Canada is an afterthought or not considered at all by Hasbro. Clearly they do consider Canada, have retailers here selling their products. US retailer exclusives often find their way to TRU or Game Stop in Canada.

There was a time, say the mid 2000s, where US retailer exclusives were simply unavailable in Canada, period.

Like I say, maybe I?m missing where you are coming from.

PS: I compare Canada and California due to the very similar population numbers. 39 million Californians, 38 million Canadians.
Forgot we were up to 38 Million. I was basing my math off 30 Million in Canada. My mistake.

As for the resources issue, I was responding to Zeroflamez's comment:

"I just can't see how Hasbro can fix what they royally screwed up here in Canada, and not just them but retailers too."

Essentially saying that Canada doesn't rate high on their list of priorities. Which I think we can agree is true, yes?

Making money isn't a priority ? If they can make money they will sell wherever they can.

This company answers to shareholders if there's a market of 38 million potential customers you bet they'll be selling there. It makes no sense not to.

Distribution sucks that is a fact and something we all agree on. But why that is is only known by Hasbro.

All I know is as years have passed I have no trouble finding exclusives or stock and it's gotten easier and easier to find what I want with minimal effort. That could be because I live near the centre of the universe that is Toronto I dunno. But all i know is i've seen improvement.

Not as high for sure.

Based roughly on population as we don’t know revenue numbers, Canada would be 10% of the revenue that the US generates.

I’d imagine they would rather keep that revenue flowing than not. But they do have a lot of disgruntled customers on both sides of the border at this point.

Target has a pair of andor figures up for preorder.
Anyone know if any of our Canadian retailers picking these up?
I’m “targeting” that new shore trooper

Thanks dawingster for the link!
Philtastic it’s still on preorder for target so I’m guessing this is just a place holder

Your location definitely has a part in that. Some areas get better distribution than others. In my experience I can't find anything in my local stores anymore and in store hunting is dead for me. No new product on shelves in forever, empty pegs constantly, shelf space for lines shrinking, some lines discontinued completely, year old figures clogging shelves. My stores are in the worst state I've ever seen them. Not to mention I've had 2 Game stops in my area close since the pandemic Making it even worse.
