GameStop opened package policies

Well I learned some thing new at a local GameStop today. I found the Drax Moondragon two pack, or at least the box. In addition to the price sticker there was also a pink square sticker. The box was empty so I asked why there was this sticker. As it turns out this store opens all their Hasbro boxes, removes the figures and keep them in back. This is done to avoid theft of the figures. Also, if you are a stickler for buying your figs in factory sealed packaging double check then prior to purchasing. I learned that some stores open their boxes so that customers can see them before making their purchase. Thankfully window packaging is returning

Where was is this?

Never seen it at a GameStop before. Must be a store decision.

Yeah, I had them open packages for me before purchasing if the tape was retaped.

They are really good with doing that.

It's a store decision for larger things. One Gamestop had the Power Rangers Megazord empty box and some have them high up so an employee has to get it.

Montreal. Does seem like a store decision. I would have thought that a chain like GameStop would have a set of universal policies

How the hell does someone steal a Megazord without anyone noticing? lol

Most staff aren't going to stop someone stealing I would imagine.

One location in Winnipeg does this, not the others so not a corporate thang.

In box collectors hate it, don't go to that store.

I don't think it has anything to do with window packaging. It's the same production process with same chances of error.

It's kind of weird you gamestop does that. Perhaps too much L&D happening.
I did notice an empty box of ninja turtles figure today. Wasn't sure if someone stole the toy or something

I hated it when they use to open new games too. It's not new if it's open!

Yeah I never understood the logic behind that. It's not like they keep brand new games on display racks. They don't even keep pre-owned game discs in the cases so why?
