Could Dr Strange being a Walmart exclusive but going to GameStop mean Walmart Canada isn't getting exclusives anymore?

No it just means that specific exclusive was not taken by Walmart Canada. Unfortunately Walmart Canada is run separately than Walmart USA so even though something is a Walmart exclusive, it doesn't mean Walmart Canada will get it.


I'm waiting to see what happens with the GI Joe Classified Retro carded figures. They are a Walmart exclusive in the US, but so far nothing from Walmart Canada. If it ends up like the Dr. Strange figure and "fan channel" stores can get them instead, that would be great so I don't have to hope to find them at Walmart. However Walmart did get the recent GI Joe Retro stuff up here as well (figures and vehicles) so they might still be taking those exclusives, but again it is a wait and see.


Long story short, no Walmart Canada is not giving up on exclusives.

Hopefully the classic Dr. Strange ending up at Gamestop bodes well for the classic Lizard figure, if they get it that will eliminate the headache of trying to find one in store.

I haven't seen an exclusive at Walmart since 2020. That's why I wondered if Walmart was giving up or greatly scaling back on them. I mean look at how many they passed on recently..

I know it seems like it, but Walmart Canada has had exclusives up until this year. As I said they had the GI Joe Retro line. They also have had some SW Vintage Collection exclusives (I saw the Clone Wars Battle Droid just today). And BS had a bunch until last year (Adm. Rampart, etc). Then they also had John Walker Cap and Compound Hulk.


So they have been getting exclusives. It is just this year, so far, they don't seem to be getting anything. Ulik and Dr. Strange went fan channel up here, but there are still other exclusives that may or may not show up at Walmart Canada. It'll just be a wait and see game, and I would prefer they went anywhere else than Walmart Canada.
