This.

...and maybe what little accessories came with the SDCC Jabba too.

on another note: what is Hasbro's hold up with 3PO? would realy like to see an original trilogy version released, but sadly I'm forcasting an Episode VII version.

Right? Lol

I can think of at least half a dozen figures from the line so far that could easily have been scratched for a 3PO.

What they SHOULD (but probably won't) do is do something similar with what they did with their Yoda.

You know how we got an OT-era Yoda, but they included his lightsaber from the prequels?

They should release a Threepio with a swappable left arm. Gold arm for OT, Red arm for new trilogy.

His right lower leg is different too.

Yoda was not done right. Skin colour and accessories.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Does he not have a silver lower leg in the sequels?

I've conceded to the fact that Black Series will never get the character 100% right though.

Yoda was OK in my books. If the only thing wrong with it was the shade of green that sounds about normal for Black Series figs. Maybe we could have gone with a backpack, too. I did like the accesories we were given though. The lightsaber was a nice consolation to not getting the backpack.

None of them are perfect and you can spend hours nitpicking them (For example the fact that Vader's helmet is a little off-looking or that he doesn't have any force grip hands, just that weird, limp, "I just took a quaalude" hand).

Nope

Even the new 3.75" figure doesn't have it. Just red arm.

In that case, I don't think Hasbro would go with what I'm suggesting. One swappable arm, yeah. They'd do that. A swappable arm and swappable leg? I doubt it.

If we get a threepio it'll be either one or the other. I'm pulling this out of my @$$ but I'm betting if we get a Threepio it'll be an Episode VII one first, then they'll reuse the mold for OT Threepio somewhere down the line.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

It would be cool to have an official one. But they will apply a lack luster paint job I'm sure. That's why I went Bandai 1/12 and Mafex (preordered). I also have Revoltech 3P0 but it looks like ass compared to the others. What they need to do is just make a Tatooine version that's all dirty with restraining bolt. Then at least their paint will be more convincing.

My major issue with Yoda was the fact that he costs as much as a standard 6" figure...add to the fact that I never saw him at big box retail and only at comic shops where his price tag was between $30 and $35 before taxes.

I know Hasbro would never drop the price for one single sku in the series, but they could have included a small diarama piece or some extra accesories to justify the cost.

A snake? ...comon'!
