Preview pic of the 1st appearance Superman figure (Action Comics # 1) from the upcoming Collector Edition Wave. This will be the very first figure in this wave.

Finally a somewhat "normal" looking Superman head sculpt. Since it is based off his first appearance, and that era's style, I can give it a pass for some design choices.

The same can't be said for the other recently revealed Superman figures..

Now for better, full figure pics.

The head maybe gets a pass. The body certainly should not. He wasn't anywhere near that big in his first appearance. That all-yellow shield emblem looks ridiculous on that giant chest.

Re: McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse toyline

Okay, there is so much wrong with this figure. Even forgiving the body mold re-use, it's all wrong.

By far the most iconic version of Superman from Action Comics #1 is the cover image. But on the cover he's wearing red booties (not knee high boots), and his suit is a royal, or dark blue.

That light blue colour is seen on just the first interior page (the rest he's mostly darker), where the red boots are also missing, but why would you go for the interior page art, when the cover art is so much more iconic?

And as for the S shield, the interior art only shows the basic triangular version. The police badge style S shield is visible on the front cover, but even then, I'd say it's open to interpretation as to whether it's just the basic triangle, or not.

Regardless, it's a hodgepodge, and a bad one at that.

You're welcome!

I'm just hoping McFarlane Toys does a 1st appearance Wonder Woman (although a classic post-Crisis comic book Wonder Woman figure is long overdue).

Don’t feel like digging this guy out of my collection but DCD did an admirable job of giving us a correct version back in the day. I did always want a version with the shield design though here’s a link to their version
