Also what has TRU raised prices on exactly ? Everything looks the same to me.

All the Marvel Legends stuff is $2 - $10 higher than msrp. Ironically, their ML exclusives are the only things that are not overpriced. And while they do have a price match policy, so it shouldn't really matter, I'm sure they're betting most people don't check.

Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series 6 inch discussion
pretty sure they will put focus on state side operations more. the toy boom from the past year gives them a shot at great sales while the Macy placement cuts overhead by a butt load.
considering California alone has a higher population than Canada, it's safe to say that there is a much greater potential for profit down south.

They're not a real company, though, is what I'm saying. A private equity group bought the naming rights after the bankruptcy, and is just slapping it on cheap knockoffs, like their US website, which is literally nothing but links to Amazon, and they make a commission off the link.
The Macy's deal is also just a branding play. Macy's licenses the TRU name for their stores to get press and foot traffic because "look! Toys R Us is back!" But it's literally just a toy section in Macy's and they're paying the owners of the TRU brand a licensing fee (either percent of sales, or more likely a flat fee per location).
Basically I'm just trying to point out that it's all marketing BS insofar as TRU is not actually a real thing in the US. It's literally just a name, and nothing more.

From what I recall the plan was to reopen stores but Covid put a stop to that.

Must not have found much to purchase there lately personally. Looks like prices have been adjusted.
Also the PM policy they had in place ended quietly last month from what I understand.

"Those bandits!" as my grandmother would say.
TRU website now states that "Effective October 21st, 2021, Toys R Us no longer price-matches other retailers."
https://www.toysrus.ca/en/help?fid=order
F that.
Edit: They will do a price adjustment on their own prices within 30 days, though, but not against Black Friday or other special sales.

Same as Walmart and most other big retailers in Canada now. Unfortunately.

Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series 6 inch discussion
Costs have become extremely volatile, it's not surprising that retailers won't price match anymore.
If a store is eliminating their profit margins by continually price matching another retailer, they won't end up being around much longer.
