This is a funny one. Who cares what some peon thinks, if you have the money to burn on toys, then all the power to you. If you like it, want it, then buy it. As many as you want. At least that's my motto.

Never felt nervous. Couldn't care less if anyone saw me buy toys. Hell, I get excited when I spot new figs.

Damn right sure no adults would feel "nervous" buying stuff at Disney stores; they always give you that no-stress feeling...

I am not nervous walking into any toy aisles at all. Shoplifter-kids are more nervous than you when you walk in there. I am proud to collect the things I like. I even have some small figures at work on my desk.

At the cashier:
"Would you like a bag?" No...
"Do you need a gift receipt?" No...
"Do you have Air Miles?" No...
"Would you like to donate $1 to the _______ ?" Sorry, no...
"Are these for yourself?" YES!!!

I think you will find that the feeling will pass with time.

I'm turning 40, been collecting as an adult since I was 18(took a break for High School ).

I know I cared more what other people thought of me in general when I was younger, but at some point that all faded. I think you will grow into your own shoes, so to speak.

usually when cashier asks "do you need a gift receipt?" i just reply "no they're for me". more often than not, they just smile.

I usually get nervous when I see another dude in the aisle, thinking he's looking for what i'm looking for and we'll have some sort of dust up, kinda like Sinbad and Arnold in "Jingle all the Way".

I used to feel that way, but for the most part, TRU pleebs don't care, plus some of them are collectors too.
