If it's any help, I saw the Archive Palpatine at my TRU yesterday. I didn't like that Hasbro seems to have given him a more reddish wash on his face this time around. My original first release was more brownish/beige, and the Amazon-exclusive was darker brown wash.
Why it is redder this time is beyond me, as it felt more like he was gently bleeding from his pores.

I picked mine up today. The lighting in my house sucks at night, so pics turn out terrible. What specifically about the paint/gloss do you want to know about? It looks pretty good to me - fairly glossy, smooth and consistent for the most part. So hard to focus on details with everything being black, in this crappy lighting. Maybe daylight will help.

Thanks for that, I was just wondering if the paint/gloss came out well, and consistent, considering the seemingly more prevalent cases of QC issues with SW figures lately.
