Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series 6 inch discussion

About 75% of the line is a pass for me these days. But by wallet is happier for it.

The ones I want I'm still 100% digging

Some interesting bits here.

First, it looks like they are changing up the packaging again. These boxes look new in both colour and design. Nothing too far off what we already have, but definite differences. Also I think they might be mock up packages. The GI Joe logo on the two pack looks too small and off centre. Also it leaves a whole lot of black "dead space" underneath it and to the right (our right).

Second. Interesting accessory choices for both pieces. Sgt. Slaughter looks to be getting his accessories, but it looks like they are also giving him some of Big Boa's accessories as well. I see the boxing gloves (in blue) and the weights.

The two pack is even more interesting. As was stated already it looks like Low-Light has lost his sniper accessories in favour of the Zartan one. Second it looks like both of them are getting different back packs from what they originally came with, and finally a new "pet" for Spirit with "Niyol." He looks like either a different type of eagle, or possibly a vulture.

I'm sure they'll ask deluxe pricing for Slaughter due to all the extra accessories. I imagine the two pack will be the same price as previous two packs.

I get that Hasbro isn't doing all that well financially, but its nuts how many repaints its introducing into the Joe line. The endless repaints killed my appreciation for the Star Wars Black Series line.

Could be a Raven with Spirit, but the feet are the wrong color

I mean most of the repaints lately have been exclusives. If they gotta happen, better they be exclusives than main versions of characters like the Cobra Island stuff.

I don't mind the odd repaint but I don't like paying the jacked up prices for them. Should be cheaper than newly introduced figures.

That ship sailed quite a while ago. Pretty much all the bigger companies are guilty of this now (Hasbro, Mattel, McFarlane, etc).

They no longer offer discounts, at least regularly, on re-releases/repaints in multipacks. I guess they figured why bother anymore when they can just sell them at full price, or higher, and people will still buy?

I am fine with reuse, and even paying the same as before, as long as I see value in the offering. Something like the Viper three pack? No too expensive for what was offered. Not a good value, but once it dropped in price I thought it was a good value.

These new Mad Marauder reveals? I think they'll be a good value, depending on the final price. Mostly because they are both different, and come with a lot of accessories both new and old.

(Warning: Generic "This series is great!" with pictures of stuff you've already seen by now post)

Man, I am really hooked on the Classified series... I'm now picking up what amounts to "random" characters for me - and they have all been glorious:

*Especially* this guy!

...and I'm even picking up repaint sets I had NO intention of going near (having the prior versions already):

Just good stuff all around, indeed...
