Re: Masters of the Universe Origins discussion

Was wondering why we haven’t seen the other waves at all at Walmarts.

Only have seen the Goldberg/Warrior wave in stores as the current one available.

Was hoping to get Ricky and Roddy and JYD.

Was wondering if this li e was dead.

Nice to see another stone cold cuz the hogan ring set never made it here either.

Re: Masters of the Universe Origins discussion

So I thought this was kind of funny and wanted to post it here. It is just an example of the way companies can work sometimes.

So the pic is from a deluxe Clamp Champ that I picked up at GameStop for $5+tax. I was peeling the sticker off when I noticed it was more than one sticker.

From right to left is the original price, then a reduced price on January 15th, then a price increase on January 21st to higher than the original price. Only to finally have it clearanced this week (less than 2 weeks later) for $5.

Just too funny sometimes.

Re: Masters of the Universe Origins discussion

Any chance anyone in the Ottawa area went to a TRU today? I’m wondering if there’s any Origins Stridors left at any TRUs there. Going to be making a trip in to Ottawa tomorrow morning….

This line is now finished as the last wave of chyna, rey, austin hit Walmart US. The retro line is now making a return.

It will be interesting to see what the long term value of the line is on the secondary market.

I don't have any of them, and while I know they are currently popular with both fan bases, I think longer term it will be the MOTU fans that want them more than wrestling fans.

Who knows for sure, but I think it will be interesting to revisit them in a a year or two and see where prices are at for the line. (of course "rare" figs will always hold a value)

Agreed, I was very selective in this line of whom I wanted. Missed out on hogan as per ring exclusive. He’ll be the last I need to get.

Re: Masters of the Universe Origins discussion

With all the scalping already on the origins stuff, I don't think it's much of an investment.

Supply is really tight right now but that will change.

I don't think you should be buying any massively produced "collectibles" with an eye on making money.

You have to trade them like stocks because long term, like with Transformers, once the hype is gone its almost impossible to get top dollar.

Figures that were low supply, high demand go for a mint but with the passing of a couple years or less, the hype dies and all of a sudden, the supply is greater than the demand.
