Well several of the Alpha class are RAH vehicle retools. Like the Tiger claw/Snake trax, Armoured Panther, everything in the second wave. So if they seem to not measure up that might be why.

Well, to be fair, I never had a Tiger claw before. When I opened them up, I noticed the Tiger Claw's front wheels did not turn in unison with the steering wheel. There's nothing attaching it, though when you look at it from the bottom, it looks like there should be. Has this always been like this? I opened two of these and both were like that. Seems silly.

I does kind of look that way. But I never had a Ferret ATV back in the day. I did have an Armadillo (what was retooled into the Armoured Panther).

Here's the insctructions for assembling the vintage RAH Ferret. I can't tell if it's got a steering attachment or not.
