I know right? I did the double take too when he said that, and he agreed it seemed sudden lol. We'll see soon enough. Like I said, I just want to gloat to Americans (in the most polite and Canadian of ways naturally, lol).

Just remembered to put in a preorder. Let's hope it is sooner rather than later.

Yeah saw that Dr. Mindbender "deluxe" was available for pre-order but man that 70 $ price tag is atrocious , I would way rather wait for a single release, for what you get with that guy the price seems way too high, it's greedy, what he comes with isn't worth 70 CAD, if things play out the way they seem to, likely a single packed figure will be down the road.

Every single corporation right now is raising prices because they know they can tell their customers to place the blame on "inflation" and supply chain woes.... but then when you see:

https://www.thestar.com/business/202...rge-by-40.html

"Critics accuse Loblaws of profiting from inflation as profits surge by 40%"

Inflation is 5 to 7% but prices and profits are far in excess of that. Hasbro is no different from Loblaws.

Less than two years ago, the Snake Supreme Cobra Commander Pulsecon exclusive, with it's fancy box and extra accessories was $39.99 through Gamestop.

Now, Mindbender, in a similar deluxe box with slightly more accessories is $69.99. That's a 75% increase.

You are right, that's not inflation, that's profiteering by Hasbro (and many other companies right now).

Anyone could have figured this out after price increase #2 or #3 that hasbro is taking advantage of trusting consumers. Without going too far off topic, the other corporations across the board doing the same thing it doesn't surprise me either. I could never really understand how anyone could think a corporation would be above shady schemes Like this.

I guess the real question is...is there regulation in place that can investigate these concerns and decide if things are within a reasonable standard.

While we mention inflation, we cannot forget the cost of materials and shipping etc...these all contribute...but what is beneficial is there is open access to their revenue reports and if we can accuse places like Loblaw Ltd of price gouging they should be able to determine Hasbro and the like and hopefully we can see these places getting called on to the carpet to explain their potential profiteering off of the current economic environment.

Hasbro has a hot product that they have finally clued in that 46yo guys have been wanting for years to relive 1984. Eventually they will over price and saturate the market. Or eventually we will all get old and die and then theyll be sorry.
