I get the debate over price and value, but if only one company (Hasbro) is making 6 inch Joes, and you want 6 inch Joes, not Dragon Ball figures, the argument is kind of pointless, no?

And as for being a vehicle for investment, there are probably better markets than toy collecting. Certainly ones that don't take up so much space?
No Japanese companies currently make Joe figures but a Hong Kong based company, Threezero has started making 1/6 Joe figures. In the classic scales though it's only Hasbro, so you're right. It's basically Hasbro or go home if you collect only 6 inch and 3.75. I was just making a comparison to Dragon Ball figures for the sake of argument.

Yeah, Threezero is starting up soon, Mezco is about to release Destro in 1:12, so we have two high end brands competing soon. Still, my comment wasn't specifically GI Joe but Hasbro 6" lines in general. I am almost finished with Star Wars Black series and I'm checking off a few big wish list figures finally being released in 2022 from Marvel Legends, but the prices are climbing so much that I have already decided to swap out Hasbro versions for Mafex (Spidey in Black costume coming in 2022). The quality is outstanding (though for a Mafex fig at 2.5x the cost, vs 1:1 or sometimes 1.23x~1.3x for the SHFiguarts).

Oh yeah, I forgot mezco is doin Joe's now too. The only thing about the higher end companies is they aren't going to make EVERY single character and side character like Hasbro will.

I take back what I said earlier. There's also Super7 doing 6 (or 7) inch scale. But they're $70 - $75 each. I passed on those, because they just cost too much.

With that price increase I feel better about paying $60 (ish) for BBQ off eBay.

I am wanting him too but I feel like I should have to pay less than retail for him. I had Crystal Ball and Raptor as a child so I think Hasbro owes me some money.

Dockside has Valaverse, this stopped me from overpaying for scalped BAT. These look amazing.

Slaughter's arms look a little thin, but he's a better fit with Classifieds than the Mattel figure.
