Marvel Q&A Answers from Hasbro for April 2011
AFN: Has Hasbro considered doing figures with the heroes in their civilian identities? For example, Peter Parker as a photographer or Bruce Banner dressed as a scientist or Steve Rogers before he's given the super-serum, Matt Murdock as a blind lawyer, etc. Maybe as a 2-pack with their super powered alter ego?
Hasbro: We're kind of shocked you didn't mention Rick Jones playing the guitar in the desert! Civilian figures are something we've talked about as well. Who knows who may turn up in a 3-piece suit…
AFN: Over in the Star Wars line, we often get many figures that come with removable helmets (Vader, Stormtroopers, Boba Fett, etc). I was wondering if Hasbro has considered offering something similar for the Marvel figures just as a way of offering a modest improvement on existing figures like Magneto, Aim soldier, Dr Doom (with his repaired face from Secret Wars), Iron Man, etc. It'd be nice to have the ability the "unmask" the figure, basically.
Hasbro: We're currently working on a few characters that have that ability. Keep your radar locked!
AFN: Is there any reason why there are no comic book figures in the upcoming Thor movie line? With Iron Man 2, you guys included some figures from both the film and from the comics (many collectors focused on the comic book inspired figures).
Hasbro: The Thor movie line will be strictly movie-based characters. However, Thor fans will get a kick out of a popular classic Thor character that will appear in the Marvel Universe line!
