What size of lightsaber is needed for the 31 inch tall Darth Vader figure?

What size of lightsaber is needed for the 31 inch tall Darth Vader figure? I am thinking of making one from led stick. But not sure the length or of any other material to use.

I would "guestimate" 7-8 inches for the blade length and 3-4inches for the handle lenghth. I would think you wouldn't want it more than 12 inches total as that is more than a third of his total height. Again this is just my estimation if I were doing what you are gonna do.
