Re: Post your Thrift Store/Value Village Finds!

I got a She Ra Mantenna today. Took me a while to figure out who he is.

Re: Post your Thrift Store/Value Village Finds!

Pretty cool haul today. I got a bag filled with little parts that turned out to have 2 complete STAP Platforms(minus droids), a Falcon Cannon Station complete, a Speeder Bike missing one small part as well as some stands and smallish micro vehicles.

A solid $1.99 spent.

Finding lots of cool stuff over the last little while. X-Force Wolverine, Lego, a bunch of Clone Troopers and about 80 Littlest Pet Shop animals.

Thundercats HoooooO!!!!

Just want to share my joy with y'all...

Today at Value Village (Lawrence Avenue East & Golf Club, Scarborough, Toronto), I scored a carded, original Thundercats Laser Sabers Energy Pack (the black one) for a mere $2.99.

Almost as cool as that were the four random LJN WWF Thumbwrestlers it was bagged up with.

I guess you can't call something 'Mint-On-Card' when the item itself is mint but the card is battered to hell, but I'm still thrilled with it.

I can't make out the corporate logo on the price tag stuck to the card, but it seems the last asking price was $14.99... there is a little red dot affixed to that too, suggesting that the original retail price was even higher. I don't remember toys being that expensive in the 80s but this thing boasts on the card that it interacts with other 'Laser Sabers Energy Packs' and 'The Cat's Lair' - the feature seems to be some kind of light-based Captain Power type thing.

The only thing I remember about these the first time around is that they came in four colours... blue and orange for cats and black and red for mutants.

This is a little bittersweet because I sold my loose T-cats earlier in the year and I doubt that this will form the cornerstone of a new collection, i'll likely keep it for a while and shuffle it on, still a great find though.

I roll into that Value Village every month or so but I've never found anything carded or this vintage before.. just goes to show you never know.

Re: Post your Thrift Store/Value Village Finds!

Last night at a Good Will store in Scarborough I scored a naked He-Man date-stamped 1991 (but real), the blue, red, yellow and white power rangers (all lacking accessories) and last, but not least...

Lion-O!!! (red hair, no gear, paint at an 8/10).

Not a bad haul for $3 eh?

The interesting thing was that I had been there at noon earlier the same day and there was absolutely nothing in the vein of action figures.

This place isn't your typical Good Will store, they bill it as a 'Re-Use' centre and while they focus on hockey equipment, apparently all the unsold goods from their other stores in the area make their way back there and every half hour or so they roll out another bin of stuff... and the vultures descend en masse.

Re: Post your Thrift Store/Value Village Finds!

Got some cool figures from VV today $4 for the whole lot:

Sectaurs: General Spidrax
Sectaurs: Skulk
6" Batman Figure (anyone know what its from) there is no date stamp just TM & DC Comics (s03) China
A Power Ranger, foot seems to have been chewed partially lol
And another random spiderman figure for the junk bin.

Most excited about the Sectaurs, i completely forgot about these guys until just now, super awesome figures.

Also like that Batman, nice having a good looking 6" batman on my desk at work.

The Batman one is "Zipline Batman." Might very well be the best Batman figure ever!

I got some sort of old Radio Shack Galactic Multimac set today. Pretty cool over 50 mix and match parts - kinda Starriors'ish.

Re: Post your Thrift Store/Value Village Finds!

Got my first find today!
Rather strange as well.

Found 2 box sets of Japanese imports from bandai of figures from the anime cyborg 009. I'd never even heard of the show and had to google it when I got home.
Complete boxes with all the accessories and extra hands, even the Japanese paper inserts. No extra English on the boxes, so they must have been imported.

$6 for each box set.
