Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry
Yes sir. This is what you need to make the Room
Materials
1) 2 foam boards - bought from Michael's for $2 each. These are the side/back wall
2) 1 really dense foam board, I was able to snag this from Sun Glass hut (its from their promotional signs). Use for the floor. You can probably get a wood board or something.
3) popsicle sticks for the door frame, and mirror frame - $1 for a huge bag from Dollorama or any dollar store
4) Mirror - $1 mirror from Dollarama or a dollar store, you could buy a second if you want to simulate the broken mirror
5) Paints, once again bought from Dollarama.
6) Future floor wax - used to seal in the paint.
Tools
1) Mirror cutter $6 from Home Depot
2) Pencil
3) Steak Knife - use the knife to cut the foam board, gives a nice clean cut.
4) Glue Gun and sticks
5) Ruler
6) Sculpting tool, or anything with a small rounded end, that you can texture the bricks with
7) White Glue
The bricks are measured out. 1 cm high, and alternating patterns of 1 cm and 3 cms long. Just continue until you fill the board. I then went over the outlines of the brick using the sculpting tool to help simulate the texture of the bricks
To simulate the weld points on the door, I used the white glue and dabbed it on and let dry. Continue until you get the appropriate size.
Hope that helps

I'd love to say yes but I'm the same way. I don't have the time to do it myself or the work ethic lol!

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry
I just saw this today. Not HT, but it is 1/6th:
Batman looks really good. I might actually bite on this. What do you guys think of Medicom Real Action Heroes? Comparable to HT? I love the HT Batman figures, but I've always been partial to the comic look, especially Jim Lee's stuff which is what this is based on (Hush, I believe). Definitely cheaper than HT, but it looks like much less accessories. BBTS has them for $164.99.
That rubber suit looks like it would limit articulation however. I really wish 6" figures looked this good. I would buy them in a heartbeat. Still not sure about the large 1/6th scales. I like my Christopher Reeves Superman, but I don't think I've touched him since I got him. He mostly sits at the very top of the bookshelf, staring down at the wee little humans. That's what's keeping me from getting more 1/6 toys. If I'm pretty much not touching the toy, it means I'm not really into the line.

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry
I haven't heard the greatest things about medicom, generally trend is that they are expensive for cheap products. I don't have any personal experience, but I would recommend waiting till SDCC. Sideshow has the the comic license for DC now, and they are going to be making 1/6 figures. So something might be shown at SDCC.
I do like the HS for batman though, so I might kit bash something further down the line

Cool, thanks for the info. If Sideshow has the license now, I'll wait.

From what I can tell it's not a rubber suit for the Medicom Hush Batman. It feels more like it's made out of some kind of foam.

"A great figure not only requires an accurate head sculpt, but also a full gear of outfit and accessories true to the original.
After long development, we are excited to bring to fans our newly developed Batsuit of the DX Batman, featuring fabric costume with armor originally developed based on the costume design in The Dark Knight Rises movie!
Batman fans, the most authentic Batman is arriving in the city very soon! Please stay tuned!"

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry
Forgot to post this for anybody who hasn't seen it:
Batman inside the new vehicle "The Bat".
You can see the sheer size of the Bat when it will eventually get released
