He looks... stiff. Like a giant backdrop piece.

Cap would be a definite purchase, if I had the space and funds. Wow, Hulk looks huge, I want one! Anyone else kind of unimpressed by Thor? Too bad they couldn't go with a 2-in-1 by including his sleeveless look.

yeah I'm kinda disappointed by the headsclupt. After the image of that guy holding Thor was shown, I was soo pumped for it. Hopefully they bring Thor back to the table and redo the sculpt a little. The framework is there, just needs some small tweaking (like the Chris Reeves sculpt)

Maybe they'll surprise us and give us an additional tunic to change thor into the sleevless look, wishful thinking really.

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

Hey Guys.
I'm a Hot Toys newbie. Just wondering where you guys buy your Hot Toys figures for the best deals. I was considering buying them from Sideshow but then I remembered about taxes and duties.

Is there any Canadian online stores that sell them for relatively the same price as Sideshow with some extra perks.

I've already checked out SuperPowerCollectibles, but they've already sold out Nick Fury, Hawkeye and Captain America.

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

for Hot Toys stores in Canada I would reccomend either Super Power Collectibles or Toys2.net

Both are in Canada, the nice thing about Super Power Collectibles is that they have a rewards program. Not to mention Marcio (the owner) is an awesome guy to deal with. The prices are better then Toys2, because Marcio offers free shipping on items over $100

For toys2, they are a direct distributor of Hot Toys. So any QC issues can be handled by them (ie. broken LED, scratched, dents on figures etc). They charge by USD though, which now really doesn't matter since the dollar is on par.

hope that helps

^^^^ thanks for the kind words!!

The free shipping and reward points are a great bonus for sure!

Hot Toys items sell out very quickly usually for us. We don't get as many as Toys2.

The only Avenger available for pre- order right now is THOR.

NINTH if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at anytime.

Cheers!

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

^CTO15, thanks for the tips.

I just PO Thor at SuperPowerCollectibles. I did email you guys earlier about whether or not you'd be getting more PO's for Fury, Haweye and Captain America. It's too bad you guys don't get that many orders in. I guess Hot Toys isn't that popular in Canada, or maybe too expensive.

I'm going to have to cut back on spending with other figures in other to complete the avengers series.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the figures.
Does Hot Toys always start pre-orders 6~7 months before release? So far I've been only collecting Japanese based figures so I'm only use to a 3~4 month wait.

Thanks for your email and for your order!

Hot Toys do normally have pre-orders 6 or 7 months ahead of time. In fact the 1989 Batmobile from them was up for pre-order over 1 month ago and isn't being released until 2013!

Just be sure to pre-order quickly on our site to ensure you get one. I think the next figure is Loki.

THanks again!
Marcio
