The AFN Action Figure of the Year Awards

Welcome to what with any luck will become an annual event at Actionfigurenews.ca! The entire month of December will be dedicated to deciding which action figures, you the AFN membership, feel are the best action figures of 2009!

With the categories presented you should be able to vote for any action figure, released anywhere in 2009.

Categories will be 'stuck' above each corresponding discussion forum for visibility.

The Categories Are:

G.I.Joe It was a big year for G.I.Joe with both the 25th Annivesary Line and the Rise of Cobra toys showing up on toy shelves across the country.

DC Comics A lot of new action figures from the pages of DC Comics hit toy shelves this year.

Marvel Universe : It was a big year for Marvel as well. The X-Men Origins Wolverine Movie as well as a new X-Men Cartoon and continuing Marvel Universe line kept toy pegs full in stores across Canada.

Star Wars The Force continued to be with Star Wars in 2009. Continuations of both the Legacy: Bulid a Droid and The Clone Wars figure lines proved popular throughout the year.

McFarlane Toys: Todd McFarlane continued to produce popular figures in 2009, including his ever popular McFarlane Sports lines and figures based on the Halo franchise.

MOTU:This collector oriented line proved very popular amongst collectors in 2009, providing MOTU fans with incredibly detailed updates of favorite characters.

Transformers:The release of the largest grossing film of 2009, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, lead the way for Transformers in 2009. As well the continuation of both the Animated and Universe figure lines kept collectors very busy this past year.

Movie/TV/Video Games: This is the place to vote for all the action figures that don't fit in anywhere else. Gears of War, Star Trek, Sreet Fighter, Resident Evil, Heroes, Wrestling, Code of Honor, TMNT's, Japanese Releases and more can all be voted for in this category.

Voting

Vote for your favorite five figures of 2009 in any or all categories of your choosing, A scoring system is in place to determine the top five figures in each category so be sure to mark your picks in order of popularity.

First Place = 15 Points
Second Place = 12 Points
Third Place = 9 Points
Fourth Place = 6 Points
Fifth Place = 3 Points

Final point totals will determine the rankings in each individual category, with the winner from each category advancing to the final round.

The Final Round will consist of a poll containing the winners from each of the individual categories with the winner being named the AFN Action Figure of the Year!

Two voting options exist.
1. Vote in the corresponding thread, placing your choices in a post.

2. PM your votes to Robimus. Be sure to include the category you are voting in in the PM.

A running total will be displayed atop each category thread and will be updated on a weekly basis.

Voting will run from December 1st until December 20th in the individual categories with voting for the finals taking place between Dec 22nd and Dec 31st.

On January 1st the AFN Action Figure of the Year will be crowned!

*Note: Be sure to be specific when submiting your votes. For instanve don't just vote for "Snake Eyes" as Action Figure of the year. Be sure to include all prevelent information such as "Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes from G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra"*
