New X-Men wave up on GameStop website at $35.99 each. Only bought 2 as I can’t afford to buy whole waves at these prices. I figure a couple of these will go on sale eventually.

I guess that isn't too bad, relatively speaking (yeah right). The recent SW Luke, Darth Maul, Kir Kanos/Carnor Jax were what $37?

So not too far off for "exclusives"

Thankfully I already have enough Wolverines, and the first Mr. Sinister so I can skip these unless they go on big sale.

Re: Marvel Legends discussion

Pre-orders are up for the Bonebreaker wave, only putting up complete sets for this one. (Wolverine single figs available)

And yeah, case costs definitely jumped up for this wave.

If you're not paying $300 per case (of 7 figures I am assuming) then you're already better off than TRU

Cases are always 8 figures. Thus the extra Wolverines (ie. peg warmers, something small retailers must hate)

Ngl, it's kinda wild that the X-Men figures that I did hunt for in the secondary market will have ended up being cheaper than if I got the same characters on the Animated Series box/Bonebreaker Wave.

Re: Marvel Legends discussion

Hey 4lott did you ever go back and ask your buddy who works at TRU where he got the $300/case from?

Just curious to see if he was just blowing smoke at you, or if he was being serious? Considering Hoffman's pricing I was curious.

Re: Marvel Legends discussion

From TRU’s own, what I guess is, inventory page that shows product details. Not sure which wave or asst. he was using as an example though. Most likely the higher price point $40+ figures. What TRU is being charged still doesn’t make me feel any better about paying it. Something else to consider. There are only 81 TRU locations in Canada. If each store only receives 1-2 cases and each asst is a different SKU then that’s really not a lot of buying power vs. Target or Walmart in the states. Cost to TRU is higher I’d assume. Especially with the prices in the states also going up to the mid twenties. However even at the current exchange rate these figures shouldn’t be anywhere near the $40 they’re charging

Re: Marvel Legends discussion

That's interesting when you compare that to the number of Gamestop locations in Canada. According to Google, they have 4,816 in 2021 which far outstrips the paltry TRU store count.
