Re: Masters of the Universe Origins discussion
I feel like very few people here are doing in this for ?long term investment?.

Agreed. But man I didn't plan on that for my Shadowless Pokemon cards or my MTG Revised Edition I got as a teenager and man did I clean up on those. My brother sold his cards through me and basically paid cash for his car last month.
Never planned on selling those till the market exploded.
So I guess it depends. Some could say that then if you cash out at the right time you could start looking at toys in your collection a different way that's for sure.
I always enjoy collecting but I still call it my retirement fund lol after my kids take what they want first...which they are very clear about lol

Re: Masters of the Universe Origins discussion
None of things you mentioned are buying solely for investment though.
The longterm investment comment just seemed so random, out of no where.

I suppose. But things can accidently go from collectible to accidental long term investment. But you are correct nothing mentioned was solely for investment.
Random for sure. Merely pointing out while we all love to collect it could become something of an investment if the market grows or goes bananas aka my Pokemon cards.

I don't have any of them, and while I know they are currently popular with both fan bases, I think longer term it will be the MOTU fans that want them more than wrestling fans.
Who knows for sure, but I think it will be interesting to revisit them in a a year or two and see where prices are at for the line. (of course "rare" figs will always hold a value)
