Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

Wow!

1250 / 4,000 (+479) 31.25% of funding goal with 51d 19h left.

Where did all these orders come from? Almost a third of the way there and the daily backer average (after day one) has increased to over 100 backers a day.

There is no way that continues, but the numbers are definitely looking much better for this project to fund. Of course once the early bird window closes (without funding) we'll see where the numbers go.

Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

Let's do another update:

1,414 / 4,000 (+164) 35.35% of funding goal with 44d 20h left.

Well wherever those big jumps came from early on, they are gone now. It's been a week since my last update and it has only gained 164 backers, so about 23 a day. Definitely back down to a daily average that will miss backing unless they get a major bump in the final days.

Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

I think the ship is cool but it's always hard to tell what people are willing to spend money on with large items. I was surprise the Thundercats lair got backed. Not because it's not good, it's awesome but it's freaken huge!!! Whoe really has the space for it.

Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

Well this is either a problem with the counter on the website, or this thing has died an early death. Granted because Super7 takes payment upfront a lot of people who might back this are probably waiting until the last minute, but that makes the final days an even bigger problem.

1,427 / 4,000 (+13) 35.68% of funding goal with 36d 20h left.

Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

Well I guess I should check in on this thing since it is almost done. Really haven't been interested too much since it basically stalled after the first couple days.

Anyway:

Cobra Mothership:

1,499 / 4,000 (+68) 37.48% of funding goal with 2d 17h left.

Unless everyone and their uncle jumps off the fence this thing is probably not going to fund. Hopefully it does and everyone is just waiting until the end because Super7 charge you immediately for the backing, unlike Hasbro.

Guess we'll know in 2d and 17h.

Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

I was thinking there will be a bump at the end too, but I wonder how much of a bump it will be. I really hope that it gets funded. That said, it's more than I'm willing to spend, especially at this time of year.

Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

Well I missed out on what the final number, or as close as I could tell it got.

So I don't know how close it got, but it didn't fund so no mothership.

Oh well, onwards and upwards with new O-ring. Hopefully Super7 takes this as a bell weather that super expensive items need to be carefully considered before trying to crowdfund them. Also I hope this means they'll be a bit more careful with any future pricing of vehicles/playsets for O-ring.

Re: Super7 Cobra Mothership Crowdfund

I think the closing number was around 16xx. It wasn't even half point mark.
Some people mentioned the timing wasn't great. Holidays and pre-tax return season. But don't know how that really translate in reality.

I'm not a GI Joe fan to value how important this piece is. It's a bummer because I do feel like it's a good toy.
So I think not all hope is lost and see with the new o ring figures coming out, if that would generate more interest for this item next year.
