You think they want to price themselves out ?? How is there any logic to that ? They want to be competitive they are just the first to increase their prices because they can't absorb it.

Seems pretty shortsighted if you ask me.
I don?t understand why you?re so hyper focused on business realities and then ignore that the pandemic has affected wages/job security for the average consumer.

I agree with your post 100% by all means shop elsewhere if the prices are too much. I couldn't agree more with how the pandemic has hurt people, I know I've been very fortunate during the last 2 years. But stop blaming TRU and come here with the realization that there are ALOT of factors at play right now in the world that are causing this. I just see posts about "Greedy TRU"...if the discussion was more about the problem surrounding that price increase I think the value and understanding of that conversation would go much further.

Bottom line...people need to stop blaming TRU for being the first to say hey we need to raise prices...we don't blame someone selling a semi-detached house for $1.6 Million, we know it's the market and we know this is the way and we try to fix the system that allowed that to happen.

You are preaching to the choir here. Believe me when I say I RFD (RedFlagDeals) hustle hard and proud of it.
We will see if/how long it takes for other retailers to follow suit. As of right now, it is just TRU, so there is a very good reason for customers to not shop there.

Because that's what we are talking about...a business and toys ?! I've also literally mentioned inflation and how hard it's been with food, housing and our hobbies.

Are we reading the same posts ? I've alluded to those struggles but its not on topic and this isn't where we have that conversation.

I agreed the pandemic has hurt people...not sure where else to go with this.

Agreed. But my point again is let's not make them out to be the bad guy here like they have some evil plan to rip us off.

Their prices are higher. Let's hope prices don't get as high elsewhere. Prioritize shopping where prices are lower.

Let it end.

Their prices are higher to offset the startup costs of all the new location across the US?

I get the hikes. It?s been rough on the world the last 2 years.

Things will most likely never be the same pre covid. I?m ok with some of it but not all of it.

I just could t believe when I saw the website prices for peg warming snake eyes origins figures @ $45

Nuts when amazon.com is asking under $15 USD.

But how many figures are in a case? 8? 12?

No one knows why for, sure maybe they are struggling in the pandemic. They don't have that US cash inflow to offset losses. I think there is an awareness that people will go elsewhere after comparing prices. I suspect this is an indicator that TRU may not be around as much in the next few years...

Re: Marvel Legends discussion

I think ownership is separate between Cdn and Us, as it is with the Euro and Asia TRU, right?
