Winnipeg Comic & Toy Expo - March 12 & 13th, 2011

The Winnipeg Comic & Toy Expo is coming up March 12 & 13th, 2011 at the Canad Inns Polo Park, 1405 St. Matthews.

Tim Russ, Commander Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager, is our special guest all weekend long. He will be signing autographs(autograph fee applies) all day Saturday and for most of Sunday, as well as offering a special dinner and performance on Saturday night for $35.

In addition the Expo will be offering over 50 tables of Dealers and Artists to help keep you busy all weekend long! Admission is $5 per day with the Event running from 10am - 5pm both Saturday and Sunday!

One month to go! Iacon North, The Manitoba Transformers Fan Club will be in attendance as well as the Mandalorian Mercs Vhentin'ade Clan!

Lots costumes for photo ops!!

So in addition to special guest Tim Russ, the Winnipeg Comic & Toy Expo is going to have an Anime Video Room, Video Gaming, table top gaming, prizes for costumed attendees, 50 plus dealer tables and tons more.

Iacon North will be out in force as well with a couple dealer tables selling all manner of Transformers goodies.

Well looks like we've got a full blown Star Trek convention on our hands.

In addition to Tim Russ the Winnipeg Toy & Comic Expo is also pleased to welcome Roberto Picardo, the "Doctor" from Star Trek Voyager, to the weekend event.



If your a Star Trek fan be sure to make it out. SOme programming including some celebrity Q & A's has been added to the event.

New guy here...with a question.

Are there any camera restrictions at an event like this? I mean just for general photography of displays at vendors tables and such (not talking about sticking my camera in the nose of a celebrity guest).

I've never been to one of these events before and I'd like to put together some photos to capture the spirit of the event.

Just one still camera...not hauling lights or microphones .

I always take tons of pictures at the Cons so feel free to bring your camera.

It certainly would be nice to ask peoples permission before you take shot of them, but for the most part its wide open.

Guys(and Gals) like the Mandalorian Mercs come out specifically to interact and have pictures taken with fans.

Also watch for Benzo, Haggis and myself at the Iacon North section of the Con and say hi if you get a chance!

Thanks to the donations of fan club members the Iacon North table is going to have over 500 comic books available only $1 per book!

Lots of cool stuff including The Walking Dead(20 issues), Marvel G.I.Joe(over 40 issues), Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Aliens, Star Wars, Transformers(over 70 issues) and many more!
