Man, I know Birthright was removed as canon for Superman's origins after Infinite Crisis, but holy cow, it was amazing. It just got better and better the more I read.
As a kid I was always drawn to the Alien side of Superman, how he is essentially an outcast. I'm glad that was touched on in Birthright, and I hope that is something they really develop in the Man of Steel movie coming out next year. I really think it would give the new film a depth to Superman that isn't present in previous film versions. Get away from the romantic aspect of the Donner films, and focus on a man trying to live up to his fullest potential. Something I'm sure everyone struggles with at one point or another. That could really make people connect to Superman, which the traditional Big Blue Boyscout image doesn't these days. Man, I really hope MOS is amazing. My hopes for that film are astronomical. I'm probably ruining it for myself with my ridiculous expectations, haha. Then again, TDKR lived up to my expectations and surpassed them...
