Honestly while I can't say that I feel this arc has been great I will admit that its been fun. These little Jedi are a stroke of marketing genius for Star Wars.

Actually, I have found this entire season so far a snooze fest. I'm actually thinking of not watching anymore.

Re: The Clone Wars: Season 5 Discussion Thread

I definitly think its lost momentum. The show just had it lowest weekly rating in the USA over US Thanksgiving.

I suspect the writing has a lot to do with the decline. I found this last episode to be about on par with the Holiday Special - and even though I like aspects of the Holiday Special thats still not a good thing.

"A Sunny Day in the Void" is up tomorrow. Anyone watching? We might(or might not) get our first look at a new Republic Commando.

Re: The Clone Wars: Season 5 Discussion Thread

What do ya mean snooze fest? I'll admit that it has been slow with the episodes honestly, that Rebellion Arc and then the Pirates vs. Younglings stuff are admittedly kind of on the slow side, and could have been wrapped up in about two episodes instead of having them last for... Was it four episodes an arc? This is what Montages and Voiceovers are for, to keep a faster pace on things.

These past few story arcs would have been extremely condensed if shoehorned into one of the films or something, but with a 22 minute long episodic t-v serial they tend to get a bit long in the mouth.

I've still found myself enjoying them, it could be worse, it could be all political rumblings again. And while politics in the Star Wars universe make for good drama, they do tend to lead to really boring action set pieces.

A shame we already know all those Younglings get offed during the Jedi Purge. (Unless they retcon that one or two of them survived or something.)

This new Droid arc looks like it'll be interesting enough in the comedic side of things, which for a show as dark as Clone Wars can get sometimes is a breath of fresh air. I'd kind of like it if they stop teasing at Ahsoka's death though, I mean come on! She was alone on Hondo's planet and she get's attacked by Grievous, yet somehow manages to flee without taking a serious bit of damage?

How the hell is Grievous able to live so long? How is it even possible for Obi-Wan to beat him when they get to know each other's fighting style during the Clone Wars and encounter one another in lightsaber duels all the time? It kind of makes how simple and easy Grievous got taken out during RotS even more pathetic seeing him in all these moments of triumph and competence and stuff.

Still I think this season is standing out quite well after all Clone Wars has established itself, and the hardcore fans will continue to follow it, although with a decline in ratings they might try and do something sensationalist just to get the butts back in the seats. Like feature a story arc involving Vader and the Imperial forces hunting down Ahsoka or some off-the-wall idea like that.
