1 Attachment(s)
Thanks to AFN member 4lott for letting us know that the Marvel Legends Retro 3.75 Collection figures have been released in Canada.
The case includes 2 Spider-Man, Captain America, Magneto, Human Torch, The Incredible Hulk and Ms Marvel Carol Danvers.
The price is $17.99 each.
These were initially spotted in the Montreal Laval area and then again in Ontario at multiple Toys R Us stores.

Why are these the same price as the Star Wars vintage collection figures when they have a fraction of the articulation and no accessories, that's ludicrous.

It’s almost like Hasbro put these out to cash in on the retro market of 3.75 figures like those in the ReAction line. Even added the Kenner logo. Sort of a What If?. The paint apps and colours are great but I really think this is more of a niche thing.

It seems pretty safe to say that $17.99 is now the regular price for 3.75" figures from Hasbro.

Sadly all the retro lines are like this, cash cows and lower quality than original in some lines.

This is why collectors shouldn't support them (not at this pricepoint anyway). I used to buy a lot of the Reaction stuff when they were under Funko and more affordable.

Now, even though I really like some of the ALIEN/ALIENS stuff they've put out, I'm out --- it's very hard to justify that price unless there's super-articulation or a ton of accessories.

I believe this is what I paid for the Retro Star Wars that I was able to order last year from Walmart.

Canadians are paying more because of the retailers not because of Hasbro.

We are paying 40% more than what these are priced down south.

Saw the entire wave at Yonge and Eglinton (Toronto) TRU yesterday, in case anybody cares.
