Re: Star Wars Online/Pre Order Sightings Thread

Bo-Katan wave sells for $20 in the USA which is around $25 CAD. We're paying $8 CAD more. That's more than 25%. How does Hasbro Canada justify this huge price disparity? I think importers only pay 5% GST on toys and ocean cargo rates are the same because Hasbro ships from China to USA then trucks to Canada.

Prices are getting out of hand and Canadians are getting screwed again. There is no chance in hell I'm paying $38 CAD for these new figures.

But here's why I think prices went up:

Hasbro Canada would be foolish not to. Demand in Canada is so high. Since the start of the pandemic, demand for everything is through the roof and toys are no exception. In the Lower Mainland of BC, sought-after action figures last a few minutes on store shelves. Walmart cannot restock fast enough. Hasbro cannot deliver enough. China cannot make and ship enough to satisfy Canada's demands. The consumer goods market in most parts of Canada is on fire. Hasbro Canada is just charging what they can.
