Re: Marvel Legends discussion
So my closest TRU (Barrhaven) which opened in 2023 finally closed on Sunday. Over the course of the last couple weeks/days they finally had some good discounts, and surprisingly a lot of product lasted a long time. I went a couple of times, and Sunday I went to see what was left.
I managed to arrive a couple minutes after they opened, but there must have been a line because it was pretty busy and the shelves were already pretty bare. However I did see one couple who had 2 full shopping carts with Star Wars and Marvel stuff. I also just missed out on a couple of remaining GI Joe Classified figures as I saw someone pick them up off the shelf just as I was walking up.
Sunday action figures/collector stuff was 80% off. For whatever reason Lego was only 20% off the whole time they were closing down, including the last day.
As for me I got some good deals from 50%off and 70% off with a little bit left for 80% off. As for Marvel stuff I managed to snag a couple of things. Interestingly they seemed to drop the price on stuff so it was cheaper than at TRU stores that weren't closing. That made the discount even better for some things.
50% off:
Retro Gold Iron Man mark 1 (I collect IM armours so I caved). $22.50
Spidermobile. This roughly works with 6" figures and is fairly accurate to the classic look. So for $20 I picked one up to go with my ML Spidey.
Doc Ock (No Way Home) for $25.
70% off:
All of the What If? Hydra Stomper (MK2) wave except Talos for $9 each. Didn't really care about this wave except for the BAF. Sucked to miss Talos to complete the Hydra Stomper....however....keep reading later......
ML Roleplay Captain Carter shield for $60
ML Angel for $13.50. I couldn't believe this was still available at even 50% off let alone 70%. For whatever reason it was marked as regularly $45.
80% off:
Talos (there he is!!). I must have missed him earlier in the week, but there he was and BAM! My Hydra Stomper is complete for roughly $57 after tax.
Comic Yondu for $5.60
Captain Marvel/Dr. Doom two pack for $10.
I also picked up a number of other things (non-Marvel) but that was what I managed to snag on the Marvel side of things. Ionly wish I was able to get there earlier on Sunday because that one couple looked to really have cleared out the Marvel and Star Wars stuff which seemed to still be in good supply.
