They forgot to raise the price on their Ebay listing, though, so I picked it up there, instead. Still at a slightly inflated price, but okay, it's an older, out of print figure. But did it give me a bit of pleasure to stick it to them if even just a little? I'd be lying if I said no.
And it's definitely not the first time an online/local shop has raised their prices significantly when down to their last few units of a figure. Many of the better-known collectibles shops even charge more for short-packed figures straight out of the pack. And that's over and above their already inflated base "retail" prices.
And, look, I get it. Retail is tough, there's a lot of competition, and owning an independent business is even harder, but man do they make it hard to sympathize with them when they're scanning Ebay for price hikes as much as the scalpers are. And of course, they buy Amazon and Walmart exclusives and sell them for double on their sites, too, so really, they are scalpers, after all.
Okay, rant over.

Places like Toy Snow Man and NMC are still pretty fair with prices despite that. There are definitely sites that are worse. I mean I can kind of understand why they resell the store exclusive higher since they are paying retail for it unlike regular retail figures so they gotta make some profit. Though I'd just prefer them not to bother reselling exclusives.

Small retailers have been doing this for years with figures/collectibles. I actually understand that more for them since they get small amounts comparatively. So sell the desired figures for a couple bucks more and hope to move the stinkers eventually.
As for $200 for Cara Dune? Well scalping through "retail" is still scalping, but i get why the price hike. Wouldn't buy from them though.

Amazon is one of the worst! If they don't hike their own price, based their algorithm, they'll sell it to someone else to do it for them, and then they get another cut! But first they'll cancel the order you managed to snag at regular price…

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion
Listed for June on Amazon? Yikes.
I expect it to show up at Canadian retailers long before.
