WALMART Scaling back Action figure aisles ???
I was at the ST.ALBERT , Alberta Walmart today . They have rearranged the Toy section ... the ACTION FIGURE aisle was mighty small now .
There used to be a couple of aisle's at this location .. not anymore.. hmm

Has anyone else seen this happening ??

Re: WALMART Scaling back Action figure aisles ???
Yes, my Walmart's started scaling back a little while ago though, not just recently. Collectible Action figures be too expensive and don't sell very well at most locations I imagine.

Re: WALMART Scaling back Action figure aisles ???
Funny, this is only true for some Walmarts in and around Montreal. The majority of the ones I frequent had little for several months and now, when the resets are done, they’ve started receiving more stock.

I noticed a slightly smaller section after a reset yesterday at one store. But it wasn't drastic.

The Walmarts near me in Toronto have been so devoid of action figures for 2 years that I rarely even go in there to check any more.

Yup it's the same for my part of the GTA (Peel) too.

Re: WALMART Scaling back Action figure aisles ???
Yeah the amount of product may be shrinking, but most of the local Walmarts I have gone into haven't really shrunk their toy aisle footprint. They have just switched up what is being offered.
The reduction in toy aisle size happened a while ago, but seems to have stabilized more recently. As for action figures, well it seems that the writing has been on the wall for them for some time and we'll just have to wait and see what is left on regular retail shelves going forward.

Same with my store. It's very rare to see any Black Series or Marvel Legends on the shelf. Transformers are limited, DC is all peg warmers from 6 months ago. Its probably been years since I bought a figure on the shelf from them.

Re: WALMART Scaling back Action figure aisles ???
I talked to toy manager at my local WM she said figure theft / poor sales is why SW BS / VC lines aren't being refreshed anymore. The new SW toy stock is all Epic Hero and Mashups (low end kids lines nobody wants). Sad times...
