Quantum: When you were in South America, how was it travelling around? Did you guys mostly go by bus, or did you fly from area to area? I'm asking cause we only have 3.5 weeks to be there, so we don't want to spend too much time travelling since our time is so limited. I'd rather be able to see and do more stuff than sit on a bus or something.

We did both. We flew if we could, but if you're travelling locally, bus is easier and much cheaper. We found that we had to cut our original plans down cause there's so much to do there. You'll probably have to fly to Cuzco if you're doin Machu Picchu (you are gonna love it!). I'd plan a few trips around a central point to save travel time, then fly or take a bus trip to the next central point to take trips from.

And we were there in Nov 2004.

Cool, thanks. My friend wants to go to Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. I think we might have to bypass Bolivia. It all depends: do we want to spend ample time and really explore an area, or do we want to basically do this hop scotch thing where we jump from place to place? I'd rather do the former.

We did exactly the same thing: planned Equador, Peru and Bolivia and ended up skipping Bolivia in order to spend more quality time in the other two. As a result we got to spend a week in Quito (capital of Equador) taking Spanish lessons, then a week in the Equadorian cloud-forest, then a week surfing in a Peruvian beach village called Mancora, then a week in Cuzco and hiking the Inca Trail.

It also leaves us a reason to go back so we can go to Bolivia, and since we'll already be there may as well hit another country as well. Perhaps Venezuela, or Columbia, or Chile, or Argentina.

On topic, I was very surprised when I opened my DCSH Two-Face, he can't look down. Have to dremmel out behind his chin.

Also made a boo-boo with my Black Mask, so it may be a little while longer before the reveal. Was fixing a loose bicep swivel, go distracted, it's glued in place.Trieste to boil and pop, just stretched the peg. He's been in the freezer for a couple of hours to see if that works. If the peg shears off, I've got a plan, but it'll be a few days before I can try to fix it as I was vasectomized this morning, so I'm on the couch for a couple of days.

Thanks dude! Man, what a head-ache he was. Meaning I screwed up a helluva lot! It was such a learning experience. Fixed the busted arm swivel today by grinding down a screw to the size I needed, then drilling into what was left of the peg into the shoulder and putting the screw in. Instant(if by instant I mean an hour or so) new peg allowing for full bicep articulation.

that's a good fix too. i had a similar experience with my DCUC short hair supes but i used a small nail instead. Basically clipped off the edges until it short enough to use as a peg.
I hear tho....was such a headache and a half!!! Ugh...i never want to go through that again.

its usually available on mattycollector.com the monday after the convention. The Suitcase part of Plastic man and the Starro Spores that attach to faces are convention exclusives. So you actually have to be there to get those, just like the whole Gleek fiasco from last year :(

Plastic man I don't care too much for, but definitely want the DCIH set. Aquaman, Flash, MM and WW all look like they have new articulation. Why they released another GL without new articulation is beyond me. Regardless, they are much better exclusives than what Marvel has planned for SDCC in terms of their MU line.

Finally got around to opening these guys. I gotta say, two of the best figures ever. I know they're originally from DCSH, but they're great. Supergirl is probably the best female sculpt, IMO. Great head sculpt too. I only wish her outfit were a darker blue to match better with Superman.

My DCUC Wave 7 Flash arrived yesterday! Not much to him, what with the total lack of accessories, but the paint apps look so good on him and he's got some good articulation for running poses! Plus, I paid below retail for him, and for Barry Allen, that is a deal and than some! :D

for the 2 figures, shipping was $13. So after taxes and everything the figures came out to $17 each. Not so bad considering DCUC is 12-15 in the states and $19 in Canada.

But if you buy 10 figures, shipping is free.
