Episode 1 Spoilers Below

So this is the first Disney era production that I’ve really enjoyed, at least thus far.

I think the characters are really well fleshed out, at least in so much as one 36 minute episode could.

For instance, the Mandalorian(I’m gonna call him Pedro), for having nothing but a mask is really interesting.

A down on his luck bounty hunter, an orphan taken in by the Mandalorians after a Confederacy of Independent Systems attack when he was a child(thus his dislike/hatred of droids).

Thus the connection to the baby(I think I’ll call him Yoddle), whom is also clearly an orphan.

With a subplot of restoring Mandalore/Mandalorians in some mysterious way.

Connections to the mythos/history of Star Wars are everywhere, all serving the story on some level. From the Holiday Special tie ins(Life Day and Stun Rifle), to the Ewoks Battle for Endor Blurggs, to the Mandalorian lurking in Fett colors near the blacksmith(Maybe a Super Commando ala Marvel Star Wars #68 from 1982), to the Tri Pod Laser canon. Lots of fun call backs.

I loved Kuill the Ugnaught and his quirky wisdom. And Werner Herzog’s Imperial character seems to have all kinds of potential. Why is he after a mini Yoda?

This may be the Star Wars I’ve been hoping for.

Episode 2 was such a fun ride.

I love how they build their characters through such minimal dialog. We can’t see Pedro’s face, nor do we hear his voice for long stretches, yet we get more character development from him than we see in multiple films for some characters.

I love how he is both a bad ass, but clearly not invincible. His grit and determination really shines through.

Jawas of Doom were amazing fun. Little a$$holes :p

Much Yoddle has learned in fifty years. Yummy frogs are. Underestimate him one should not.

They are building towards some amazing drama and character moments. Clearly Pedro has a connection with Yoddle(and vice versa). Will he actually follow through on the bouny?

Thanks to John Favraux for his work, it was interesting. I liked it. That's exactly how Star Wars should be. I remember when I was a young man reading Star Wars comics from Dark Horse Comics - Jango Fett: Open Seasons, I loved the atmosphere. That's why after watching the series about Mandalo now, I still had a nice feeling.

Next year we're waiting for a spin-off about Obi-Wan.)

Open Seasons is an absolute classic.

Can’t wait for Episode 8 in a few hours.
