Check out Yakface.com's (http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2011/10/11/toyguide-update-vc50-han-solo-bespin/) look at Han Solo (Bespin), recently released in The Vintage Collection! This is the best Bespin Han we've gotten to date! He's got a great paint deco, updated articulation over past versions and has some nice, screen accurate accessories. Seriously, this version should be in every Star Wars fan's collection! Even the absence of a holster strap is easily overlooked!

Enjoy!

Definitely gonna pick up TPM vintage Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Maul. Sidious is a maybe.

The movie heroes line don't all that great though. Lacking the articulation of TVC.

Vos isn't a favorite of mine but I might get him just for the awesome card.:)

So does this mean that he was hanging around on Tatooine?

Either he's not a very good jedi for missing that "vergence in the force" that Quigon felt, or he's not a very good jedi for noticing, investigating and then not telling anyone.

So does this mean that he was hanging around on Tatooine?

The image on the card is of a background character that Star Wars writer John Ostrander picked out and expanded upon in the Dark Horse Comics.

Initially the background character was just that, background, but with Ostrander and Jan Dursema he suddenly became something much more.

The story goes that he was on Tatooine on another mission, unaware of Qui-Gon's plight. I suspect if Qui-Gon had not actually met Anakin he wouldn't have found him either.

Of course the Force works in mysterious ways. :p

In one of the comics Vos actually later muses that had he been aware of Qui-Gon's trouble he certainly would have aided him.

In any case at this point Vos has one of the most expansive stories in the Star Wars EU. He's been both Jedi and Sith(or almost) and he survived Order 66. Where he went after that we don't know.

If they are just repacks then they are, but most of those sculpts are ones I'm not familiar with. It seems like new figures to me.

If they are just repacks then they are, but most of those sculpts are ones I'm not familiar with. It seems like new figures to me.

I'm fairly certain these are re-packs Rob, in point of fact, none of the modern era figures of the past three years have included built in Lightsaber blades into the saber arm. That feature to my recollection was last used back during the AotC days, as I recall owning an Anakin figure with a Lightsaber that retracted up into his arm to mimic the on/off function of the blades.

Padme and Anakin however do look strangely newer or at least I don't recognize them. Jar Jar is obviously a re-pack, probably from one of the Vehicle/Creature releases with the character as a pilot. Or possibly from the 2003 stuff.

I'd wager these are more re-packs than anything else. Although if they do have proper articulation I might get that version of Anakin to stand next to his Padawan variant. I suspect however that could possibly be a re-pack of the Pilot Anakin figure from the Power of the Jedi sub-line.

Robimus

I only remember the telescoping blades from the 1980's. I mean I have AOTC's figures like Obi-Wan that don't have that feature.

If they were from vehicle packs that could explain why they don't look familiar.

Does this Yoda look familiar to anyone? If these are repacks I'd just like to confirm exactly where they came from originally. Thanks.

Check out some new Class-1 Vehicle listings, now up for pre-order over at Entertainment Earth...

From the site:

This Wave 2 case sports 4 individually packaged sets (subject to change):
1x Republic Sub with SCUBA Clone Trooper
1x Sith Speeder with Darth Maul (Phantom Menace)
1x Naboo Royal Fighter with Obi-Wan Kenobi
1x Republic Recon Fighter with Anakin Skywalker
(subject to change)

The Republic Sub is probably based off a vehicle from the Season 4 Clone Wars premiere, whereas the Republic Recon Fighter seems it may be the cancelled vehicle from last year that was supposed to come with Obi-Wan Kenobi, this time around, hopefully, being released with Anakin Skywalker.

This new series is slated for release in Jan. 2012, no pictures have been revealed as of yet.

We've already seen shots of the SDCC 2012 Jar Jar Binks in Carbonite exclusive figure, and now we have a look at the 7-figure set this piece will be included in at the show this year - The Carbon Freezing Chamber!

One figure from each of the Star Wars episodes are included, along with the Jar Jar figure, which will be placed in the centre of the multipack, in an effort to mimmic the freezing chamber on Bespin.

Included in the set are:

Jar Jar Binks – Episode I
Clone Trooper Lieutenant – Episode II
Shock Trooper – Episode III
Sandtrooper (with Sentry Droid) – Episode IV
Princess Leia (Bespin Gown) – Episode V
Darth Vader (FinalDuel/Sith Lightning) – Episode VI

These figures will be packaged on a recreation of a lost line look for the Vintage line dating back to the original Kenner days.

The 6 “lost line look” cards will be available at retail shipping as variant to their TVC counterparts similar to the Revenge/Return of the Jedi cards from 2011.

Enjoy the attached shot, more info about the set as we get closer to this year's San Diego Comic Con!

Today, Rebelscum.com (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Movie_Heroes_Review_Queen_Amidala_Anakin_Skywalker _143823.asp) has a nice look at two figures from the Star Wars: Movie Heroes subline - Queen Amidala & Anakin Skywalker.

Neither has had an update since 1999. Amidala's costume is much more detailed this time around. Save for the ball jointed head and elbows, this figure actually matches the articulation of the original figure, but it's still a pretty good piece. The head sculpt could've used a little more tweeking though. Accessories include her screen accurate ascension gun and grappling hook backpack.

Anakin, once again, leaves me disappointed and that's not just because I am not a fan of the little twerp. The articulation is straight out of 1999, he seems smaller than the average Ani figure and what is with that weird jet-pack? Sorry Hasbro, didn't see anything like that when I watched The Phantom Menace. The helmet is nice and fits well and the head sculpt looks pretty close to Jake Lloyd though, so I suppose it's not all bad.

All in all, nothing amazing from these two. If I had to pick one, I'd stick with Padme, the outfit is detailed and the accessories are screen accurate and, like Rebelscum says, the figure isn't all that bad.

Ah well, to each his own.

Enjoy!

Rebelsum.com (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Movie_Heroes_Review_Jar_Jar_Binks_Darth_Maul_14382 8.asp) has a look a two more Movie Heroes Star Wars figures today, the bumbling Gungan Jar Jar Binks and the horned Sith apprentice, Darth Maul.

Neither of these figures is all that great. Jar Jar looks good, but he doesn't stand well. He comes with an oversized bowcaster and boomer projectile. Maul only seems to like one pose and has that annoying 'leg-squeezing' action feature. He comes with his double-bladed lightsaber.

To sum these two up, pass on them in favor of the Vintage Collection versions and leave these two on the pegs for the kids.

Enjoy!

Continuing their in-depth look at the newly released Star Wars: Movie Heroes figures, Rebelscum (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Movie_Heroes_Review_ObiWan_Kenobi_QuiGon_Jinn_1438 49.asp) brings us reviews on Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn. Both feature light-up lightsabers, which function by means of a pressure button on the figure's belt. The saber arms feature no articulation as they house lighting and wires and the figures are just slightly out of scale. The head sculpts are superb however and the costumes, for the most part, are screen accurate. Although these figures are neat, in my opinion, stick with the Vintage Collection versions of these prequel Jedi Knights.

Enjoy!

Yakface.com has an awesome 2-for-1 review today! From the Wal-Mart exclusive Discover the Force subline, it's Ric Olie (http://www.yakfaceforums.com/TGuide2004/html/MH12/DTF/DTF09.html) and the Naboo Pilot! (http://www.yakfaceforums.com/TGuide2004/html/MH12/DTF/DTF10.html)

Both figures are simply great! Olie, who will only be released in this line, features a head sculpt that really looks like actor Ralph Brown! The '99 figure was really good, but this one is so much better! Features new articulation and comes complete with a soft-goods overcoat, helmet w. goggles and an S-5 heavy blaster pistol.

The Naboo pilot, which will be rereleased in the Vintage Collection later on, will make for a great army builder. He comes complete with the same accessories as Ric Olie and will make a great addition to both the new and old Naboo N-1 fighters.

Both are amazing! Pick them up and add them to your collection when you can, no question!

Enjoy!

Rebelscum.com has a nice look at yet another Discover the Force figure - Tusken Raider. Esentially, it's simply a re-release of the same figure released back in 2006 with a darker wash. Super short Mawhonic is next in Rebelscum's look at the Discover the Force Star Wars subline. He's got a great sculpt and paint work and comes complete with a flag and rifle. If Pod Racer's aren't high on your list, I'd say pass.

But, Rebelscum does think he's pretty cool, so it's really up to each fan to decide. Pass for me though. :p

For those of us who've yet to get our hands on any of the Deleted Scenes Vintage Collection figures, Yakface.com has a nice look at the first figure in the line, Colonel Cracken (http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2012/03/07/toyguide-update-vc90-colonel-cracken-millennium-falcon-crew/). Great use of sculpt, paint and acrticulation, this figure is a winner in my book, although it is a little upsetting no helmet or comlink accessories were included with the figure. The blaster and heavy cannon are nice though. Recommended!

Darth Maul rounds out Rebelscum's in-depth look at the first set of Discover the Force figures being released exclusively at Wal-Mart retailers. He's nice and all, but I have to say, the Vintage Darth Maul is the one to get, while this third Maul offering, since The Phantom Menace hit theatres in February, is simply unnessesary. He comes complete with his dual bladed lightsaber, probe droid and two stands, one for him, the other for the probe droid. I really dislike that face too.

In my opinion, pass on this one and stick to the Vintage Collection offering from Hasbro!

This is pretty much the ultimate skiff guard version of Lando, although the skin tone is a little too light and the figure is somewhat shorter compared to the first Lando figure released in this line. However, there is some great detail on this figure and he's loaded with some neat accessories. I'll leave the final choice up to each individual collector.

This figure is sure to be popular with collectors thanks to the Slave Leia body and the combination soft and plastic goods clothing as well as superb detail and paint make this figure an even better version released in both Vintage Collection and Legacy Collection versions perviously released up to this point, although the plastic hair makes the head always seem like it's always looking to one side. However, this is hardly a reason to pass on this figure! Good all around and a must-have for every Star Wars collector!

The figure is an awesome repaint of the Droidika found in the 30th Anniversary Collection and the new paint apps look great! Accessory wise, you get 2 blast effects and half a deflector shield.

All in all, this figure has no flaws, although it would have been nice if the old deflector shield color had been used so collectors could have a single color, full shield effect, instead of two seperate colors. Still, an awesome figure that should be scooped up at any cost!

Finally recieving the fully-articulated treatment, this is a very nice figure, sporting everything from a nice sculpt and paint job, to a screen accurate face as well as a MSD droid featuring working wheels and axels!

However, the figure does fall short in places. The skin tone is too pale, the uniform, to green. Also, what is with that soft goods piece?

Surprisingly, I don't hate this piece, regardless of how deeply I despise Jar Jar. Although the coloration is slightly off, the articulation has improved somewhat over the Movie Heroes version and Hasbro even included a soft-goods skirt, which allowes the figure to sit atop a kaadu fairly well.

To each his own, however, as I often say. While I think the piece is an improvement over the Movie Heroes version, some may disagree. In any case, these are some descent Jar Jar figures were getting nowadays, and shockingly, I don't hate them.

This is, by far, the best version of this vehicle we've had to date, with a near perfect paint scheme. And, who doesn't love that Vintage-style box?

On the negative side, Hasbro went a little heavy with the mud deco around the feet and, according to Yakface, some of these seem to be plauged by slightly wobbly legs.

This is said to be the ultimate Speeder Bike set offered by Hasbro to date! The detail is flawless and the updated Biker Scout (from 2006) features improved articulation so he can actually pilot the Speeder Bike properly. The exploding feature is now gone, and the set now includes a display stand!

On the minus side however, seems a few of these are coming with warped handles due to how their packaged and the Biker Scout, although improved upon, seems to be showing signs of yellowing and sloppy paint in spots.

Based off the super-articulated VC45 AOTC Clone Trooper, the figure doesn't feature a whole lot of new components, but the color flashes are applied well and the figure features all the initial figures great articulation and standard Clone Trooper accessories of a blaster pistol, blaster rifle and removeable helmet.

While I don't see anything worth complaining about this figure and think it's about time we started getting AOTC Clone Officers, Yakface does mention the paint around the ankles looks slightly odd.

He is nearly a perfect representation of his virtual counterpart and you can even swap around the ammo/knife sheath to recreate Commander Jace Malcolm, a main character in TOR universe.

However, remember he is still part of the online exclusive wave, so you won't find him at retail. Also, and this is a minor quip, the Havoc Squad unit logos are missing from the figure.

Oh well, again, minor quips for an awesome figure!

Enjoy!

I'm still hopeful some cases in substantial enough quantity will reach the places like Giant Tiger and Winners. Major retailers may not have wanted any, but that doesn't mean they won't appear at any retail outlets at all as the cases themselves MUST exist.

On top of that, none of the vendors at C4 had any of this wave.

I hope those Ewoks show up at Seasr in Canada. They are advertising their Christmas toy sections right now.

Same here. The toy department became the clearance section at my local Sears. :(

So did the ones here, but now I noticed one advertising that their new Christmas Toy Department was stocked with over 1800 toys. I haven't checked it out myself yet but I suspect they are now selling toys on a Seasonal basis.
